This is an exciting opportunity for an Office Manager with a background in accounting, human resources, and administrative tasks! We are a Sacramento based sewing machine retail company with dedication to serving Sacramento's sewing and craft community. This position requires experience in managing day-to-day office operations, overseeing financial transactions, handling HR functions such as recruitment and onboarding, and ensuring a smooth and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will bring a versatile skill set, including proficiency in accounting software, a strong understanding of HR processes, and excellent organizational abilities to contribute to the success of our dynamic and growing company. Join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting both our internal team and the vibrant sewing community we serve!

JOB DUTIES

Accounting:

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and summaries for management review.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Collaborate with external accountants for year-end audits and tax filings.

Human Resources:

  • Administer HR functions, including maintaining employee records, processing payroll, and managing benefits administration.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts, including posting job openings and coordinating interviews.
  • Facilitate employee onboarding and conduct orientation sessions.
  • Handle employee inquiries and address HR-related concerns in a timely manner.
  • Stay informed about employment laws and ensure compliance with regulations.

Administrative:

  • Provide general administrative support to the team and management.
  • Manage office supplies, equipment, and facilities.
  • Coordinate meetings and maintain calendars for managers.
  • Assist in travel arrangements and expense reporting.
  • Handle incoming calls and correspondence.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, HR, or administration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage up effectively, providing clear and concise updates to managers on project progress, timelines, and potential challenges.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done!
